Currently, homelessness remains a global issue, but why is it almost non-existent in China?

Updated: Jun 5

Currently, the issue of homelessness remains a global challenge.

However, there are no homeless people in China.

Whether in large cities, small towns, or rural areas, there is no sign of homelessness.

This phenomenon arises partly due to government assistance and partly due to the kindness of the Chinese people.

Chinese families do not allow their members to become homeless.

China's policies indeed prohibit its people from becoming homeless.

There are shelters in both urban and rural areas, where proper arrangements are made for those in need, with the government taking responsibility for their livelihoods until they pass away.

Many people are generous in giving food to beggars, but they might not receive the same treatment if they ask for money.

Additionally, netizens have expressed their opinions on this topic.

Some say, "Instead of giving a fish, it's better to teach fishing. But in the end, they choose to leave."

Another netizen jokingly commented, "Haha, those who look like homeless people nowadays are mostly online influencers shooting videos while traveling. The real homeless people have been taken by the government for skills training."

Others remarked, "China doesn't support idleness, nor does it support idlers. Being homeless doesn't work in China."

"Chinese people care a lot about face, it would be embarrassing to have a homeless person in the family."

"As soon as the government discovers homeless individuals, regardless of the circumstances, they will take care of them until they become well-fed."

"Maybe they're trying out extreme budget traveling."

"In some places, the nights are livelier than the days, and they are very well protected."

"Doing ordinary jobs can definitely support oneself."

"Sometimes, a few words of encouragement can pull others out of difficulties."

"Even if you don't own land, as long as you seek help from the government, they will do their utmost to assist you."

"My friend's uncle lives in a nursing home in town and still manages to earn some money during the day."

"Maybe it's failing to pass a personal test and self-punishment."

"China's precise assistance policies leave no homeless person behind."

"In China, unless it's by choice, you hardly see homeless people. The government provides assistance, and families won't let their members become homeless."
