It seems like the Russian ambassador to Japan is making a move? Urging Japan to condemn the US for dropping atomic bombs.

Updated: Jun 5

The military conflict between Russia and Ukraine is intensifying the standoff between the US and Russia.

In such a tense international environment, Russia may make some statements that are not factually accurate.

Now, let's carefully examine the viewpoint presented by the Russian ambassador to Japan and see what people think about it.

The ambassador stated that Japan is trying to conceal the responsibility of the United States for dropping atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

The key here is the use of the term "responsibility."

Indeed, within Japan, there are efforts to downplay or ignore the fact that the United States dropped atomic bombs, as they emphasize the alliance and friendly cooperation between the US and Japan.

However, what we cannot deny is that the atomic bomb attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki originated from the United States.

Yet, the assertion made by the Russian ambassador, that the US dropping two atomic bombs on Japan constitutes a form of responsibility, is a perspective that many find hard to agree with.

During World War II, the US and the Soviet Union were allies, jointly fighting against the Axis powers.

In this context, the dropping of two atomic bombs by the US can be understood as an action aimed at swiftly ending Japan's militarism, which posed a threat to the world. It was also an integral part of the anti-fascist war effort.

These actions at least expedited Japan's surrender, for which we should be grateful.

Regarding these two atomic bombs, Japan has its own perspective, but as an international community, we should recognize the legitimacy of this action.

Some may mention the significant civilian casualties in Japan, but all of this should be attributed to Japanese militarism, which led Japan into such dire circumstances.

Moreover, we cannot ignore the harm inflicted by Japanese militarism on the peoples of Asia.

Therefore, Japan should not only focus on the impact of these two atomic bombs on itself but should deeply reflect on its historical responsibility.

These two atomic bombs represent justice, and this cannot be questioned.

Furthermore, we should also see that the dropping of these two atomic bombs not only ended the war but also served as an important warning in human history.

We should learn from history and strive to maintain peace and security to prevent such tragedies from happening again.

When examining history, we should objectively and fairly assess events and not simply blame one party.

Every country has its own history, with both mistakes and achievements.

The important thing is that we learn from history and work together to build a world of peace, justice, and inclusivity.
